Edwards Performance Horses has been in business since 1987 and had their first PCQHA year end Champion (a 3-yr-old) in Hunter Under Saddle in 1988; that horse went on to three top ten finishes at the AQHA World Show. In 1994 Jim & his wife, Nena moved  their training operation from San Diego to Galt. Their facility is situated on 40 acres in the beautiful northern San Joaquin Valley of California between Sacramento and Lodi.

They train and show western pleasure, trail and hunter under saddle and  as well as all-around horses for the AQHA circuit. The limited number of horses and riders they take in training allows them to pay particular attention to each horse and rider's individual needs.  Jim & Nena strive not only to train the horses to a winning performance, but also take great pride in teaching their clients to become effective riders.

Jim is an approved judge for many associations including AQHA, NSBA and CSHA & has taught Horse Husbandry and Stallion & Broodmare Management at San Joaquin Delta College.
